Anita Peti-Stantić was born in Virovitica. She finished elementary school and high school in Zagreb where she also graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in 1989. From there she went on to get her masters degree from Yale in the US in 1991. and further to get her doctors degree at the University of Zagreb. She is an employee of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Zagreb where she focuses on syntax and informational sentence structure as well as on Slovenian language and comparative linguistics. She has created and spent years editing the „Firefly“ children and youth library (Golden marketing), and since 2007. she edits the „Arboretum Electa“ library in Algoritam. She writes and publishes original science texts in Croatian, English and Slovenian, speaks German and is familiar with French, Russian and Macedonian language. Beside her scientific work, she has been working in the field of child literature and education, and has thus, together with Vladimir Velički, published „Language games for the young and old“ (First edition 2008, second edition 2009). Anita will facilitate the „Let me tell you a story“ workshop. |
