Organization for youth “Breza” was 31.08. – 4.09.2004 in Osijek’s old town core “Tvrđa” and in cooperation with municipal authorities and under sponsorship of Ford Motor Company, and as part of project Land without Borders, have had organized international manifestation “Ont the bridge.”
Eleven workshops was daily active during 31.08-04.09.2004. in which ten domestic artists (Gradska radionica, Dejan Gotal -Pula ; Nataša Stanich - Labin ; Ljljana i Velimir Čokljat, Ratko Žaja - Osijek ; Ivan Doroghy – Zagreb) and thirteen international artist (Lučka Koščak – Slovenia, The Serious Road Trip – France, The Flaming Butterflies – Australia, Barbara Keller i Olivier Bachman- Switzerland, Steve Buchanan – USA, Svetlana Komarova – Rusia , Helge Meyer – Denmark, Nicole Hartmann – Germany, Maša Kagao Knez – Slovenia.) participated in this event.
Children from elementary schools (Schools: Jagoda Truhelka, Vijenac, Mladost, Vladimir Becić, Fran Krsto Frankopan, Franjo Krežma, Antun Mihanović, August Šenoa) and youth (high schools: I. , II. i III. Gimnazija, Škola za tekstil, dizajn i primjenjenu umjetnost, Isusovačka klasična gimnazija) and other institutions (Dom za odgoj mladeži Osijek, Dom za djecu Klasje, Dječji vrtić Mak) were actively participated in these workshops. We are happy that more over 600 children and youth participated in these workshops.
Workshops: stilt walking, clay modeling, African dance, “Rytham communication”, “Movement theater”, “Circus”, “Clown”, “Creative body” workshops and doll making workshop “Steps on Bridge”. Performance: The Flaming Butterflies , Stephan Buchanan , Nataša Stanić, Velimir and Ljiljana Čokljat. Lectures: Town workshop - Pula – „Town's Visual identity“ Ivan Doroghy – “Osijek's Face” Exhibits: Lučka Koščak, sculpture exhibits “Angels” Helge Mayer, photographic exhibits “Surprises” Svetlana Komarova, tapestry exhibits “Spring fishes” Actions: “minute for town” - Painting kindergarten “Mak” –Organization for work with youth “Breza” and Dorm for youth education Osijek (Dom za odgoj mladeži Osijek). - Painting façade Vrt J.Truhelke - Ratko Žaja and desciplesi from School for textile and design. Mural making: façade Electronic centra , Jägerova street –Town workshop Pula (Gradska radionica) Manifestation “On the bridge” is also interesting for media, thus all manifestation was covered by HRT, Gradski radio and Glas Slavonije. On the last day of manifestation, public ceremony is held on which were presented works from all workshops. In newspaper Glas Slavonije from 30.12.2004 project “Land without border” was ranked 3rd event in town Osijek. Town mayor handed letter of thanks to “Breza” organization, for creativity and originality. |
